Medical / Nursing

The Kidz Club pioneered the Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) program in Kentucky. A PPEC is a program for children with on-going medical issues who require daily nursing care and medical supervision.

Our staff includes RNs (Registered Nurses), LPNs (Licensed Practical Nurses), CNAs (Certified Nursing Assistants) and Caregivers. The staff gets to know your child and their medical condition by spending the day with them – in their classroom, while they eat, during their therapy sessions and during playtime.

This close interaction makes it easy for the nurse to spot small changes in a child’s medical condition. This relationship typically results in early intervention to avoid more serious problems later. A good example of this would be administering a quick breathing treatment to avoid a severe asthma attack. The RN case manager becomes the point person for your child’s care team including center staff, Primary Care Physician, Therapist, Specialist, Teachers and parents. In many instances, The Kidz Club staff becomes the eyes and ears of treating physicians.
