How We Work

Parents/guardians will complete a TKC Therapy Consent Form during the initial assessment process at the PPEC. This form allows our therapists to evaluate the child and begin services if deemed necessary. If the child currently receives therapy at another facility, we can transfer those services to TKC Therapy, without need for another evaluation.

This process of obtaining insurance authorization, evaluating, and gaining approval to conduct services, takes an average of about 2 weeks, but can take longer or shorter depending on circumstances. Therapy services are at no cost to the family, as we contract with most Medicaid plans. TKC Therapy only accepts Medicaid at this time.

Once approved, your child will receive 1:1 therapy sessions at the PPEC center throughout the week, ranging from 1-3 times per week per discipline, and from 30-60 minute sessions each, depending on what is appropriate for that child. This can total up to 9 hours of therapy a week! Therapists will maintain consistent communication with parents to keep them updated on progress and strategies for home. Our therapists also work closely with orthotists and equipment specialists who come directly to the PPEC center for any consults, adjusting, casting, etc. When appropriate, our therapists will write all relevant scripts and insurance requests to receive the durable medical equipment needed for each child’s success.
